It is the fourth one on the series and such and easy read. I haven’t read all of it yet but from what I have read it is easy to follow and covers most of the updates needed for the insolvency industry.
It contains the legislative dealing with the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act (CIGA 2020) and the Insolvency Rules 2016. It deals with very thoughtfully the pre and post things to take into account in any given insolvency procedure and the procedures itself. It’s a great addition as an introduction to insolvency.
It is divided into several chapters which provide guidance and how to deal with debtors and creditors problems , the different process in insolvency and so much more.
It clearly defines the recent legislation changes in insolvency law in June 2020 under the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020 ( CIGA) together with
The temporary suspension of Wrongful trading
The Temporary prohibition on Landlords Rights to forfeit and the sue of Commercial rent arrears recovery ( CRAR)
The new Moratorium procedure which gives breathing space to certain businesses to seek rescue as a going concern
The ipso facto clauses – the new prohibition on supplier termination clauses
The temporary prohibition on Statutory demands and the issuing of Winding up Petitions but except where the covid test can be satisfied
It also deals with how Brexit affects the insolvency profession here and abroad.
