Budgeting Helps You Control Your Spending
Let’s be honest, when you operate your finances without a budget, you do not really have anything holding you back from spending beyond your means. Sure, you might have a general idea about how much money you can spend each month, but without hard, accurate numbers, it is easy to lose control of your spending habits.
When I was younger my husband and I did not really budget! We spent money in a way which was not an issue. It was just him and I. We would eat out at least 4 to 5 times a week, take holidays regularly, and without a budget it was hard to get to grips with our finances. We were trying to save to buy our first flat together and could not understand why it was taking so long to save for a deposit. Anyway, after a couple of years we started to review our monthly finances and were shocked that we were spending almost a quarter of both our incomes was being spent on nothing other than Lunch and dinners out! It very important to be mindful about the way you spend money and as time as moved on, I have become an expert and regularly advise individuals and business owners on how to keep a track of your budget.
In the same way as we look after our health and wellbeing and other lifestyle choices, we make BUDGETING should also be part of that.
